Help & support

Answers to the most common questions. Still stuck? Email support@joyridr.app and tell us your phone, your intercom and what happened.

I can't hear directions in my helmet

Check that your intercom is connected and media volume is up, then use Settings → Voice & intercom → Test through my headset. If the first word is cut off, raise the intercom wake-up delay. On iPhone, turn on Phone-call mode if music or rider-to-rider intercom drowns out directions.

Directions stop when the screen turns off

Allow location "Always" (iPhone: Settings → JoyRidr → Location → Always. Android: Allow all the time). On Android, also exclude JoyRidr from battery optimization.

JoyRidr keeps sending me back after I skip a road

That's on purpose: it brings you back to the route you planned. Open the ride menu to go to the next waypoint directly, skip a waypoint, or head straight to the destination.

The route uses a road I don't like

Tap the road preferences line under the route styles and set Highways, Busy main roads or Towns to Avoid. Add a waypoint on the road you prefer to pull the route over it.

How do I ride a GPX file a friend sent me?

Open the file and choose JoyRidr, or use Import GPX on the planner. Recorded tracks are converted into a route along the same roads.

Does it work without signal?

Download the map for your route before you leave (••• → Offline map). Turn-by-turn keeps working on a route that's already loaded. New routes and rerouting need a connection; without one JoyRidr points you back to your route.

Where is my data?

On your phone only. There is no account. Use About → Delete all my data to remove everything.

The fuel range is wrong

Set your bike's real-world range in Settings → Fuel and tap "Filled up" in the ride menu when you refuel.
